Important Instructions to Follow After JoSAA Seat Allotment 2024

JoSAA 2024 seat allotment for Round 3 was released on July 10. Here are the important instructions to be followed after each round of JoSAA Seat Allotment 2024.

Overview

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is conducting counselling for IIT, NIT, IIIT, and GFTI in five rounds this year. The seat allotment results are released on:

• June 20 (out)

• June 27 (out)

• July 4 (out)

• July 10 (out)

• July 17

After each round, candidates must follow specific instructions to confirm their seat or proceed to the next round. Failure to do so results in disqualification from all rounds and cancellation of the current allocation.

Steps to Follow After Seat Allotment

Step 1: Seat Acceptance

• Download the Initial Seat Allotment Intimation Slip.

• Choose between three options:

• Freeze: Accept the seat and exit the counselling process.

• Float: Accept the seat and consider higher preference choices in subsequent rounds.

• Slide: Accept the seat and consider higher preference choices only within the allotted institute in subsequent rounds.

Step 2: Document Upload

• Upload all required documents as per Annexure 3 of the JoSAA information brochure 2024.

• Ensure scanned copies are clear, readable, and meet the specified format and file size requirements. Blurred or unreadable documents may lead to rejection.

Step 3: Seat Acceptance Fee Payment

• Pay the seat acceptance fee:

• Rs 35,000/- (General category)

• Rs 17,500/- (SC/ST/PwD)

• Note: Non-payment will be treated as seat rejection, leading to cancellation and disqualification.

• JoSAA processing fee: Rs 5,000/- (the remaining amount will be adjusted against institute fees at admission).

• Payment methods: Debit card, UPI, Credit card, Net Banking, E-Challan.

• Deadlines for fee payment:

• Round 1: June 24, 5 PM (over)

• Round 2: July 1, 5 PM (over)

• Round 3: July 8, 5 PM (over)

• Round 4: July 15, 5 PM

• Round 5: July 22, 5 PM

Step 4: Respond to Queries

• Check the candidate portal regularly for any queries raised by JoSAA officers.

• Respond to queries promptly to avoid cancellation of the current allocation and disqualification.

• Deadlines for responding to queries:

• Round 1: June 26, 5 PM (over)

• Round 2: July 3, 5 PM (over)

• Round 3: July 9, 5 PM (over)

• Round 4: July 16, 5 PM

• Round 5: July 23, 5 PM
