Eligibility Criteria

Master of Arts eligibility criteria is different for different courses and colleges/universities. MA is a specialized course that gives students an in-depth knowledge of the discipline/domain they have picked. Therefore, some colleges also conduct their own examination to select students. But there are some common criteria for MA admission that are mentioned below:

• Candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree (preferably arts) of a minimum 3 or 4-year duration from a university/college that is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) India
• Candidates must score a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in their graduation degree
• Candidates currently in their final year must have cleared all the semester's exams while taking admission in the MA course

Admission Process

For Master of Arts admission, most colleges have their own entrance exams, while others accept students based on merit. Some top universities also hold a second round of admissions for MA programs, including WAT and PI.

• Candidates seeking admission to an MA programme must take and pass an entrance exam. For MA programs, most universities and institutes require an entrance exam
• Some colleges may offer direct MA admission based on entrance exam results. However, many colleges use additional rounds of selection, such as group discussions and personal interviews, to identify the best candidates for admission
• Candidates must pass the university/admission institute exam to advance to the next round, which is determined by their marks/ranks
